Dear Friends,

I hope you are aware of the important support President Trump has given to preserving Columbus Day and statues. Feeling compelled to express my gratitude, I wrote him a personal letter to thank him for his efforts and to emphasize the positive impact they have had across all ethnic groups. I am grateful to my dear friend John Catsimatidis, who assured me that he will personally deliver my letter to President Trump.

I wanted to share a few excerpts from my letter with you:

“Your actions extend far beyond the Italian American community, touching all ethnic groups who rightly deserve recognition for the symbols and individuals who have contributed to the greatness of our country.”

“There are no adequate words to express my personal gratitude for your courageous stand against the movement that has sought to diminish the values and history that make America exceptional.”

“Please know that the Italian American community is deeply indebted to you for your genuine and fearless support of what is right for all Americans.”

I truly believe that President Trump’s leadership on this issue has energize pride not only within our community but also among all those who believe that every ethnicity deserves respect and acknowledgment
